Tutor feedback given:  Copied and pasted here:
A sound effort Beth, you've done well to catch up with the work from the first half term and keep on track with current work too.
Good focus on health and safety and assessing risks.  Settings and techniques explored and some personal response to these is nice to read.

Research into animal / pet photography informed choices you made as a photographer and there is some appreciation of techniques and formal elements in some of the images taken.  The fact you had two do this during lockdown is impressive and shows your commitment to the course.

Final presentation of images could be more refined but the images are strong and show an appreciation of some of the areas covered for this unit.

OVERALL COMMENTS: Tutor R Horner

PASS

Beth started the course 10 weeks later than other students and has worked hard to catch up.

The work in the sketchbook meets the assessment objectives and is sufficient to pass in my opinion.  Beth has learned how to use settings on camera and why the settings enhance images and how they work.  She has used equipment such as different lenses and filters, lighting and tripods and computers - and through other units of work has enhanced this with the scanner, kaleidoscope lens and darkroom equipment.

OVERALL COMMENTS: Tutor REH

PASS

  • The work was completed during lockdown and was challenging for that reason due to equipment issues.
  • Beth worked well to edit final images in Photoshop and learn new skills.
  • She has been able to research existing images by photographers to explore techniques and ideas and this is evidenced in the tasks completed in the unit 2 study booklet. Ideas have then been developed.
  • Ideas were planned and researched with some test shots produced (room for more)
  • She presented ideas via Teams to the whole class and received feedback which helped her to develop her final idea
  • The work is evaluated with appreciation of strengths and AFIs.
